My 2002 Christadelphian Green Hymn Book with Guitar Chords |
This is an early copy of the popular selections from the green hymn book arranged for guitar accompaniment. The jpeg files are by corresponding 'green book' number and first lines. Eventually this will be done neatly and properly but these photos of the pages in my original book should get you by for now. There is a handy chord chart on the main page of music.seekthelord.com in case you get stuck. I pray this will enable our musical worship to be skillfully enhanced as we 'sing unto the Lord a new song'! Bro. James DiLiberto Note: The chords written (with corresponding capo position) match the sheet music key exactly and can be played together with a piano or organ easily. Most of the time, the capo position can be changed or not used at all if a key is too high or too low for those singing. In general, hymns can be challenging on the guitar because of the complexity of the strumming patterns required to change chords so rapidly along with the chord complexity. For the complex hymns, unless you have practiced quite extensively, you will likely find yourself 'dropping' chords out as you play and that's okay. But you will notice that something doesn't quite 'sound' right if they are not all played at least in regard to the bass notes. If you choose to simplify the musical accompaniment by dropping chords out or altering the progressions, just remember that it will not correspond to the sheet music. |
